
Shreela has worked across the creative industries including Dance, Theatre, Visual Arts, Literature and Heritage. She has led several companies including Freeword and Iniva – Institute of International Visual Arts. Shreela has also worked at a senior level within large organisations such as Arts Council England (ACE) and the British Council – during her tenure, Shreela initiated the Culture and Development programme and this led to the launch in 2016 of the Cultural Protection Fund (£30 million) for heritage at risk. The partners for the Cultural Protection Fund include the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), universities and several organisations from the heritage sector.
Culture and urbanism are Shreela’s main interests. As a director of Culture in Flux Shreela has recently worked with Liverpool City Region Combined Authority to research and report on Culture and Internationalism (2020). Shreela has been an adviser to funding bodies like ACE and was a member of the London Committee of the Heritage Lottery Fund (2007–2011).
Shreela joined the Advisory Board in 2020.
