Dr Ben Fletcher-Watson promoted to Deputy Director of IASH

Dr Ben Fletcher-Watson has been promoted to Deputy Director and Institute Manager of IASH. Ben began at IASH as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2016, researching Relaxed Performances for autistic audiences. He moved into a professional services role to replace Dr Peta Freestone as Administrative Manager in 2017. Since then, he has worked with over 400 Fellows, winning the Principal's Medal for Exceptional Contribution in 2020 for his work on the Institute Project on Decoloniality. His publications while at the Institute include Humanities of the Future (2020), The Art of Being Dangerous (Leuven University Press 2021) and Dangerous Women (Unbound 2022).

Ben said, "I am delighted to be deepening my engagement with IASH's long-term strategic planning. I know from my own time as a Fellow how important Institutes of Advanced Study can be for career development, driving publications forward and exploring cutting-edge interdisciplinary research. I look forward to working with Professor Lesley McAra to further expand the range of activities we provide, and to enhance the Fellowship experience into the future."
